Walks
The Lake Taupo region has some of the finest examples of untouched,
unspoilt, uncrowded walkways and hiking tracks in New Zealand and now
visitors will be aware of all of them in a colourful new 45 page brochure
entitled `A Guide to Walks and Hikes Around the Lake Taupo District`. The
Lake Taupo area owes its spectacular scenery to its location in an active
volcanic zone. The Walks and Hikes Guide is available from the Taupo i-SITE
Visitor Centre and from our reception.

Scenic Cellars Wine Cellar
Go to Scenic Cellars in Roberts Street and ask to see their underground
cellar. They are more than happy to show you around, it’s huge and truly
awesome! Of course it’s only free if you don’t buy any wine – but we
recommend that you do as their staff are incredibly knowledgeable and will
steer you to a great bottle (or two) of wine for the evening.
